Lunar Adventures: exploring a little bit of everything

SEGA Fantasy VI
It’s a macromedia Flash movie, about 30 minutes long (if not longer). Don’t bother clicking if you’re not a fan of the Final Fantasy videogame series or if you don’t really keep up with gaming console news — it’ll make no sense at all.
But if you do happen to be a videogame geek whose geekdom was raging in the 90s, then click away and enjoy. It really brought back the memories of one of the most classic scenes from what is one of my 3 favorite games of all time — Final Fantasy VI (PSX remake available used on Amazon). But this time we have updated characters in the form of classic and modern consoles. I was so pumped up afterwards I totally felt like digging up my old collection of videogame soundtracks and vegging out to the sweet tunes of Nobuo Uematsu.

That’s bizarre.
I miss FFVI, but not enough to play through it again. Sigh!
I miss it, but not enough to find and hook up my SNES to play it… I should buy the PSX version. Or do I have it and forgot to play it?? Now I’m confused… I need to hunt…
The PSX version kind of sucks. They screwed up the translation somehow (Relm’s “Memento Ring” is now the “Safty Ring,” for a taste) and it’s basically run in emulation (really badly, meaning very slowly.) It’s not as bad as the PSX port of Chrono Trigger was, but it’s pretty close. The ports of IV and V were relatively better, but I think that’s because those were less graphically intense and not as taxing on the poor crappy emulator software.
I watched most of the SEGA Fantasy thing, and some of it was cute, but… the thing seemed to be about pure consoles vs. convergence machines, right? So why is the XBox there? The XBox can play DVDs and even act as a computer, moreso than the PS2 even (which wasn’t included.) :p
I’m a nitpick.
