Braums is only located in 5 states so they are able to get the freshest product to their customers. All of theirs products are on the shelf within a day of getting the milk from the cow. DQ’s are hard to find because they are going out of business because they dont know how to serve a quality product or have good customer service.

braums are not all over, didn’t here of it til i was in the south. we have atz’s up in indiana. we have baskin robbins, which i like, but then, i didn’t no of blue bell either. we have this little place called Zestos which i love. you know, i am not really sure why i left you this comment, i was just hoping you had made one about harry potter, and was disappointed to find no such entry, so i read all this stuff about ice cream, forgot i was going to tell you enough with the ice cream i want harry! but i got all wrapped up in remembering what ice cream places indiana has, but then, my mind has always been of the wondering variety. that is all.

freak: I love the DQ, but you can't find them here in the city anymore... they're all out in the boonies. And no one loves DQ enough to go to the boonies just for them -- especially with a Sonic on every block! (The cherry slush I had there the other day tasted really funky, though.)

mike: yeah, I know of two Braum's in Dallas off the top of my head -- neither convenient to someone travelling west on 635 between Preston and the Tollroad. One there on Forest and Greenville, and one on Northwest Highway in Garland. Braum's is good, but not good enough to go that far out of the way for.

Josh #1: Duncanville! Proud home of the great basketball wizard Greg Ostertag! I'm not against advertising, personally -- I'm just another guy trying to get a piece of the giant pie. (I work in PR/marketing, so advertising pays my bills...) I'd be more than willing to put ads on this site, if I thought I'd actually make any money with them. But I don't get that kind of traffic, so I'm not going to ugly up the place with google ads everywhere -- especially since I didn't design this with google ads in place. I might try to slide in some here and there, but right now, the tradeoff of being ugly isn't worth it. I'm working on another project, though, that probably will have some Google advertising... but that's a whole other type of site.

Kaitlin: I like goats! Never heard of that place, but I like Baskin Robins ice cream a lot myself. Is Braum's a southern thing? I thought they were all over.

Eric: Perhaps -- but at that moment, driving on the freeway, they got me to want their product but gave me no way to act on my want. The desire currently to go out of my way to hunt down a Braum's is quite low.

Josh #2: ... party burrito... shakes? You're a strange little man. And your special sauce probably tastes weird. How is Abeline or Midland or wherever the hell you are?

bueno should make party burrito shakes. i would eat them every day.

braum's used to have really good burgers though, just bread pickles, and "special sauce"... i would eat about 6 for dinner. alas, they went away. but, andy, good news: i can make you something similar with my own special sauce anytime you like.

The best ice cream is at Young's Jersey Dairy in Yellow Springs, OH (home of Dave Chappelle. The town is his home, not the dairy). If you're ever up this way, then, I'll buy you some real ice cream. Then we can go pet the goats.

Oh, I do that all the time. On the rare occasion that an advert provokes a desire for a product, I conciously try to think of a rival product that would do the trick. For instance, and perhaps apropos of your locale: whenever I see a Shiner sign, I go out and get some Ziegen.

I loathe most advertising, you see. Especially Google Adsense. I mean, it is a good idea, and all, but when a Blogspot site with a page rank of 2 clutters itself with its technically voodoo-ey cross-domain scripting, it really annoys me. I love Google, but come on. I suppose no one realizes that they only send out the check after you’ve made
100 bucks, which is a ridiculous amount of clicks for most sites.

More on topic — My brother lves in Red Oak and works in Duncanville, and I think the last time I visited, Braum’s was had. Then again, it could have been TCBY; I’d had a few Ziegen’s.

Braum's in Dallas - Greenville and Forest. There are a few other locations, listed here. Oklahoman's do love Braum's. And Baskin Robbins is overrated, mostly by you, Andy. Braum's makes everything better. And they do mean EVERYTHING.

I like Braum’s better than both DQ and Baskin Robbin’s. The chocolate shakes are amazing. DQ doesn’t believe in chocolate ice cream.

We have Braum’s all over town in Lawton, Oklahoma as well… But i do hate billboards like that. Advertise a place to eat and then no direction. I see them on the highway all the time, no ‘exit number’ or anything…

I prefer DQ over all though… We just don’t have one here.

Apparently Oklahomans love Braum’s because there is one on nearly every corner here in Norman.
